My Favorite Clean-Beauty & Cruelty-Free Self Tanner

Self tanners are amazing. They make us feel like we just got back from vacation. I personally feel so much better with a tan. I had one that I loved, BUT started to realize it was giving me headaches. For someone with a brain tumor who already has plenty of headaches, I certainly don’t need more! I wouldn’t have even noticed if it weren’t for the one time I used it on my dad. He had just shaved his head and it was super white while his face was super tan. Soon after I sprayed him with tanner, he felt like he needed to go to the hospital. He was nauseous and his head was killing him. It was quite a severe reaction for a healthy strong man. Then, I remembered a time I went hiking in really warm weather and had just spray tanned. I, too, got sick. Once I connected all the dots, I knew I needed to find a clean, cruelty-free tanner to ensure I don't run into this problem again. That DHA stuff in most of them can give people rashes, cough, dizziness and more!

Enter my new favorite product - It’s a 100% vegan, clean, cruelty-free tanner that doesn’t turn my face orange. Introducing…Isle of Paradise! All you need to do is mix it in with your favorite moisturizer and apply! It gives you just enough color to look like you have a good healthy, natural glow. That being said, if you are someone who wants a super dark tan, this may not be for you.

I tried a few clean brands, but this is the one I’ve stuck with and love. They have a few different colors, I use “dark” since I’m naturally on the tan-side. Not only does it act as a tanner, but it also visibly brightens your skin, reduces redness, works as a toner, and creates a hydrated, even and long-lasting tan. No streaks, stains, or smells. That's the best part! I can’t talk highly enough of Isle of Paradise!
