How To Release Fear with Monica Berg

Monica Berg is a self-professed Change Junkie. She leads people to not only see how they can change (change is the only constant in life) but inspires them to get excited about a lifestyle of change. We recently talked with her about overcoming fears and stepping into your power on Better Together with Maria and it was so powerful, we needed to share. If you tune into the full episode, you will hear Monica teaching us how to release our fears and the steps to work on a growth mindset!


Here are some of Monica’s tips to releasing fear and stepping into your best selves.


1. Shift from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset

The most growth comes from when things happen that we never expect. Not all growth comes from pain, but it sure does come from unexpected things that shock us. If you start looking at little things that go wrong in your day as an opportunity for something else, you are beginning to expand your mind and open your growth mindset. 


2. Get comfortable with ideas that you did not expect

Many of us grew up craving for things to be consistent and similar or be what we expect. We’re conditioned to want to get what we think we want. However, we need to understand that we are meant to go to places that we cannot comprehend or imagine. Places where we never even saw ourselves! Make goals, but if they don’t happen, understand that the change you are receiving is to direct you in ways you were not intending. Get comfortable with the idea that change can be taking you where you need to go without you even realizing!


3. You have to want to not feel the fear 

The desire to not want to feel fear or to not want bad outcomes is what will help you move further and further away from those negative feelings. If you are constantly viewing yourself and your life as unlucky, then you are shutting your brain off to any feeling of hope or happiness. When you focus on thinking that you are one of the unlucky ones and others around you are lucky, then you are automatically only seeing the fear in your life. Try to see every aspect of a situation, the good in a bad situation, the luck in the unlucky situations. When you are able to detach from just the negatives, you’re opening your life up and welcoming in opportunities that you could not see at first.
