✨This is a less traveled area of California and great option if you want to avoid the crowds of Yosemite but still see incredible California landscapes!
Here is everything to know before you go to the Subway Cave in Lassen Volcanic National Park👇

🥾Entry and parking to this hike is FREE
🥾Open from dusk to dawn
🥾Open from April to October
🥾Peak season is summer with heavier traffic
🥾Toilets and drinking water are on site
🥾Temps are cold in the tube so bring a sweater
🥾It is COMPLETELY dark in the cave BRING FLASHLIGHTS
🥾Trail is approximately 1/3 mile long
🥾Excellent for kids but NOT stroller friendly

⚠️There is a lot of snow in the winter and spring so monitor road conditions before you travel or plan to come in mid to late summer to avoid closures.
⚠️ We visited Lassen in May and the main part of the park was still closed for clearing snow off roads. However there was still so much to see and hike around the perimeter of the park.

⁉️ Did you know there is a hike called BumpAss Hell in Lassen Volcanic National Park? A little further south is Butt Mountain 🤣 if that doesn’t get your kids excited about traveling here, I don’t know what will! 🤪
