Long-Lasting Flower Arrangement: Tulips Tip!! Do you know that tulips can last more than 10 days after cutting??
Follow the steps below:
• Choose tulips that are still tightly closed. The flowers will open in a few days, giving you more time to enjoy them.
• Prep your flowers by removing the bottom leaves.
• Trim the stems about 1/4 inch from the base.
• Drop a copper penny into the vase. Copper is a fungicide, so it kills the bacteria and fungi that usually shorten the life span of your stems.
• Poke a hole in the stem just below the flower head with a needle. The water will rise up the stem, and the tulips won’t droop.
• Pop them in fresh water.
• Keep the vase filled with fresh water. Tulips drink up a lot of water. Make sure it never completely runs out.
